Privacy Statement

This IBM Avature CRM database is part of IBM Talent Acquisition Optimization. This privacy statement informs you how we handle personal information collected by IBM. This Privacy Statement complements IBM’s own online privacy practices that can be found at: http://www.ibm.com/privacy/us/en/

Collection of Personal Information

The IBM Avature CRM database is a repository of candidate information or a “Profile”. The Profile may include personal information, such as: name, work history, education history, email address, phone number, and resume and any associated history we have had in communicating with you (for instance phone interviews or conversations).

IBM will not create a Profile of you unless you have registered (e.g. through our “Career-we-go” website) or explicitly consented thereto upon our request or invitation. We may create a Profile, based on information we have collected on publicly available sites such as Facebook or LinkedIn and invite you to provide your consent and confirm or update that Profile. We’ll not share and delete this information after 30 days unless you have provided your consent.

In addition, IBM may, with your consent, collect information about you from publicly available websites (such as social networking sites or job board profiles) and may use this information to append it to your Profile.  You are responsible for the content of any profile or resume that you create on these other websites.  At any time, if you wish for us to edit or delete the information we have in our database, you may request us to do so by emailing sorsci@us.ibm.com. We will consider any such request seriously, and we will let you know the action we have taken within 30 calendar days.

We have created the database and collect this information for and on instruction of our clients. The information in our system is only for recruitment purposes of the clients we represent, and is not accessed by other companies. Your job application system of record resides in our clients’ applicant tracking system and when you apply for a job with a client or are approached by one of our clients, then you are first asked to accept the client’s privacy policy.

When you submit information, you may or may not be considered for the job opportunity for which you have shown an interest in. We are not responsible for the final hiring decisions by the client. You may choose to directly apply to any client or company with or without our consent.  Consenting to a Profile in this database does not increase or decrease your chance of being hired by our clients.

Use of Personal Information

We use your information to include it in a database, which can be searched through by our recruiters. We will use and process your information in line with this Privacy Statement and IBM’s privacy practices as referred to above.

Specifically, when you consent to IBM retaining your information, IBM may use and share your personal information for the following:

  • to add information to your Profile that we may gather from you directly, the public domain and from phone interviews or conversations with you
  • to contact you about job opportunities for the clients we represent, updates, changes, newsletters, career advice and market information
  • send you communications via email, sms text messaging, phone or other means as indicated by you.  The information in these communications may be presented to you branded as our client and not IBM.
  • on aggregate basis, the information that we gather will be used to provide our clients and vendors information about search volume, our network of and usage of the system, usage of the site or talent community and other potentially relevant data

Information Security and Accuracy

Our recruiters can only search the database after having logged in. Recruiters will not have access to your communications outside of this database.  For a detailed review of Avature’s information security, please visit https://www.avature.net/website-privacy-policy/
